High Standards and Shared Purpose

Ricardo Garcia, Vocalis

Being part of Vocalis Camerata while serving on the Vocalis Board has allowed me to see this collaboration with Kantorei from both the inside and the outside. As a singer, I’ve experienced how their influence refined our sound and expanded our musical perspective. As a board member, I’ve seen how this partnership has strengthened our structure, deepened our focus, and inspired a renewed commitment to excellence throughout the organization.

I think the biggest change has been in our mindset. Before Kantorei, excellence felt like something we were reaching toward; now, it feels like something within reach—something we can build, refine, and sustain through process, discipline, and collaboration. The partnership has encouraged us to look inward as much as outward, recognizing that growth comes from both high standards and shared purpose.

Today, we find ourselves more aligned with world-class choirs, making music that is not only beautiful but also technically demanding—art that challenges us, stretches us, and ultimately strengthens who we are as musicians. This evolution reflects not a change in identity, but a refinement of the talent and passion that have always defined Vocalis.

I feel deeply grateful for this collaboration, for how it has illuminated and strengthened the best of who we are. Kantorei’s example reaffirmed that true excellence is not given; it’s cultivated—through generosity, determination, and a shared belief in what music can achieve when people work together with heart and intention.
