Who was Alison N. Roman?
Alison Roman was a cherished member of the Kantorei community and a fiercely dedicated music educator. Throughout her life, she inspired countless students and singers through her passion for music and her commitment to helping young musicians grow.
With the blessing of Alison’s family, the Kantorei Board of Directors named the organization’s individual scholarship in her honor. The scholarship continues Alison’s legacy by helping young singers pursue their musical dreams.
What is the Alison N. Roman Memorial Scholarship?
The Alison N. Roman Memorial Scholarship supports talented students who plan to continue participating in choral music as they pursue higher education.
The scholarship provides a minimum award of $1,000 to help cover expenses related to choral ensemble participation, including:
Choir or ensemble membership fees
Concert attire or uniforms
Private voice lessons
Other costs associated with participating in a choral ensemble
The scholarship is specifically intended to help students who have faced financial barriers continue their musical journeys.
Who is eligible to apply?
The scholarship is open to:
High school seniors, or
College students
Applicants must either:
Live in Colorado, or
Be planning to attend a college or university in Colorado

Applications for the 2026 scholarship cycle are due April 1, 2026.
