2026 Strategic Planning
In early 2026, Kantorei began a 9-month strategic planning process to help set a clear course for the future. After tremendous growth over the past 5 years, including the hiring of a new Executive Director, Kantorei is at an inflection point. Programs and opportunities are outpacing current systems, capacities, and resources. We are so excited to be here in this moment and are seizing the chance to be thoughtful and strategic about how we sustain the amazing things we are doing, and continue to fulfill our mission in new and innovative ways.

Frequently Asked Questions
-
Success means having a clear, shared direction for the future—one that reflects our mission, strengthens our artistic excellence, and deepens our community impact. It will result in defined priorities and goals that guide decision-making, support long-term sustainability, and create meaningful experiences for singers, audiences, and partners. Ultimately, success is not just a plan on paper, but a stronger, more focused organization equipped to thrive.
-
Kantorei has experienced remarkable growth in recent years, and this process ensures that growth is supported by the right systems, resources, and long-term planning. Rather than simply responding to new opportunities as they arise, we are taking a proactive approach—aligning our programs, capacity, and finances with a shared vision for the future. This allows us to build on our momentum in a way that is thoughtful, balanced, and sustainable over time.
-
This is a moment of both opportunity and responsibility. As Kantorei continues to expand its artistic impact and community presence, it’s essential to pause and reflect on where we’re headed and how we’ll get there. Strategic planning allows us to channel our energy and growth with intention—ensuring that we are not only doing more, but doing what matters most in a way that can be sustained for years to come.
-
Community input is central to shaping both the priorities we choose and the direction we take. Insights gathered from singers, audiences, donors, and partners help us identify what is most valued, where there are opportunities to grow, and what challenges we need to address. This feedback is carefully considered and synthesized into themes that directly inform the recommendations and decisions that shape the final plan.
-
This process is designed to be both collaborative and accountable. Input and recommendations are developed through a thoughtful, inclusive process, and final decisions are made through established leadership and governance structures. This ensures that decisions are well-informed, aligned with Kantorei’s mission, and supported by those responsible for stewarding the organization’s future.
-
Your engagement is an important part of this process. You can support this work by staying informed, sharing your perspective when opportunities arise, attending performances, and continuing to be an active part of the Kantorei community. For those who are able, financial support also plays a vital role in helping us turn this vision into action and sustain our work for the future.
