“The Frostiana suite was a delight. The choir followed Joel's interpretations of Thompson's setting extremely well, particularly the several unwritten changes of tempo or tenuto. The piano accompaniment was stunning, finely executed, and well-balanced volume-wise.

I enjoyed hearing the text painting in A Winter Day. While pointing as much to the composer's craft as to the artistry of the players, the cello piano dialog throughout wonderfully compliments the vocalists.

The Boy Who Laughed... was extremely fun. The many Ogden Nash poems composers have set to music will always draw laughter. Eric Whitacre has a particular gift certainly, but staging and costuming the treble voices playing the part of Jabez in lieu of actual children with some acting thrown in brought the little boy's nasty arrogance and ultimate regret to life. Kudos on pulling off this obviously difficult work.

While one could toss off the inclusion of "carol standards" in the third act of a December concert as merely pro forma, I found the rendition of these a capella arrangements to be interesting, refreshing, and anything but staid. Kantorei is both engaged and engaging in their presentation and got me ready for the season.”

“It was so good I also attended the Sunday performance. My first time seeing/hearing Kantorei, and I was truly blown away. Add that fact that Christopher Tin was involved and I'm not sure I can adequately capture the significance of that -- plus the new music. I've followed him for years and count this as a bucket list experience. The choir itself, the blend and balance of tones, the exacting crescendos and articulation, the obvious enjoyment -- suffice to say we will now be returning supporters."

“The group does nothing but get better and better. And the diversity of the music is fantastic. We're really happy to see you doing your work in Central America, and also glad to hear you sponsoring Sing! on CPR. We're doing the best we can to get more people to come hear your concerts.”
