Elevate Classroom Grant: Supporting the Next Generation of Choral Artists
FAQs about Kantorei’s Elevate Classroom Grant
Kantorei’s Elevate Classroom Grant is a program designed to support middle and high school choral programs across Colorado that are working hard to make choral music accessible, inclusive, and transformative for their students.
Below are answers to some frequently asked questions about the grant.
What is the Elevate Classroom Grant?
The Elevate Classroom Grant is a financial support initiative from Kantorei, designed to uplift classroom-based choral programs in Colorado. The grant is specifically focused on helping programs overcome cultural and financial barriers to participation in the choral arts.
What is the goal of this grant?
Our goal is simple and heartfelt:
To support the younger generation of choral artists.
Kantorei exists today because many of our singers were lucky to grow up in strong, well-supported high school choir programs. We want to ensure the same opportunities exist for today’s students—especially in communities where resources are limited.
Why did Kantorei create this grant?
We believe in the power of choral music to elevate the human experience. But we also know that not every student has equal access to the benefits of a quality choir program.
Inequity in school funding—particularly in schools serving students of color—can seriously hinder the development of sustainable and impactful choral programs.
Through this grant, we’re investing in classrooms that are actively working to break down those barriers.
Who is eligible to apply?
We’re looking to support:
Middle and high school choral programs in Colorado
Directors with demonstrated financial need
Educators who align with Kantorei’s values of inclusion, community, and choral excellence
Whether you're rebuilding a program, expanding access, or sustaining something special in a challenging environment—we want to hear from you.
How can the grant be used?
The grant is flexible. Funds can be used for:
Purchasing sheet music or classroom materials
Accessing transportation for performances
Bringing in clinicians or guest artists
Covering festival or competition fees
Supporting efforts to increase access and equity in your program
We want you to use the funds in the way that best supports your students and strengthens your program
When can I apply?
Applications for the 2025–2026 school year are open now and close on September 26th, 2025.
